The American Anthropological Association offers an array of national and international grants and fellowships for both currently enrolled students and scholars conducting research.

The American Association of University Women seeks to advance educational and professional opportunities for women in the United States and around the globe through financing opportunities such as grants and fellowships.

The American Council of Learned Societies, a private, nonprofit federation of 75 national scholarly organizations, seeks scholarship in the humanities and related social sciences through awarding fellowships and strengthening relations among learned societies.

The American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education offers funding to first-year graduate school and predoctoral fellows in the pharmaceutical sciences, predoctoral fellowships in the clinical pharmaceutical sciences, and pharmacy faculty development research grants.

The American Political Science Association awards grants, fellowships and scholarships with the goal of advancing education and research in political science.

The American Psychological Association provides departments in psychology, researchers and students with various annual awards and honors programs.

The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) offers fellowships for travel and study to deserving scholars, as well as a number of scholarships and grants for students, publications and AIA Societies. AIA grants, fellowships and scholarships are open to members of the Archaeological Institute of America.

The Clinton Presidential Research Fellowship is for prospective fellows who have an interest in advancing their research in American history or presidential legacies. This fellowship is available to graduate students and early career academics in all disciplines of the humanities and social sciences.

The Embassy of France in the United States offers the Chateaubriand Fellowship, which supports outstanding doctoral students from American universities who wish to conduct research in France.

The Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Program provides grants to colleges and universities for individual doctoral students who conduct research in other countries, in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of six to 12 months.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study and/or research projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programs.

The Getty Foundation and the J. Paul Getty Trust support institutions and individuals who are committed to advancing the greater understanding and preservation of the visual arts through grant initiatives.

The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation offers research grants to students pursuing degrees in the natural and social sciences, as well as the humanities, who hope to increase understanding of the causes, manifestations, and control of violence and aggression through their research. It also offers dissertation fellowships to doctoral students to aid in writing and completing their dissertations within the year the award is granted.  

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation seeks to support students who have an interest in public service leadership.

The International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine seeks to financially support the next generation of dentists, nurse practitioners and physicians who will perform aesthetic medicine in their practices.

The Krell Institute manages two Department of Energy fellowships that identify and support the nation’s top science and technology graduate students.

The Library Company of Philadelphia's fellows participate in the Philadelphia region’s vibrant intellectual life while conducting their research in the graphics, manuscript and print collections of the Library Company. Fellows have opportunities to present their research publicly through colloquia, conferences and seminars.

Marshall Scholarships provide financial support to American students of high ability seeking to pursue a graduate degree in the United Kingdom.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) seeks to build and support a community of scholars in the fields of archaeology, art history, conservation, museum education and related sciences, as well as scholars in other disciplines whose projects are interdisciplinary in nature and relate to objects in The Met collection.

The Michigan Society of Fellows selects outstanding applicants for appointment to three-year fellowships in the arts and humanities; the life, physical and social sciences; and in professional schools.

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine offer several fellowships in engineering, medicine and the sciences. Information on eligibility guidelines and application deadlines is available on specific programs' websites.

The National Academy of Education offers a fellowship program that seeks to encourage a new generation of scholars from a wide range of disciplines and professional fields to undertake research relevant to the improvement of education.

The National Hispanic Health Foundation established the National Hispanic Health Professional Student Scholarship program for dental, medical, nursing, pharmacy, policy and public health students who have displayed outstanding academic records and leadership, and who are committed to serving Hispanic communities.

The National Science Foundation offers a vast array of financing opportunities to more than 2,000 businesses, colleges, universities and other research organizations throughout the U.S. It accounts for about one-fourth of federal support to academic institutions for basic research.

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans program invests annually in the graduate education of 30 new Americans—immigrants and children of immigrants—who are poised to make significant contributions to U.S. culture or society or their academic field of study.

P.E.O. International is a philanthropic organization that provides women with awards, grants, loans and scholarships to help fund their education.

The Rhodes Trust chooses Rhodes scholars for their outstanding scholarly achievements and potential for leadership, as well as for their character, commitment to others and to the common good.

The Samuel H. Kress Foundation awards fellowships to art conservators and historians in the final stages of their preparation for professional careers, as well as to students of art history and related fields who are interested in art museum education and curating.

Smithsonian Institute fellows have the opportunity to study and work intensively with Smithsonian collections and experts in their fields and beyond. More than 1,500 students pursue internships offered across the organization.

The Social Science Research Council's varied fellowships and prizes share a core commitment to improving conditions for social science knowledge production worldwide.

The Spencer Foundation provides individual fellowships to doctoral students at the dissertation stage and to scholars who are engaged in postdoctoral work. Both programs support research related to education and are administered by the National Academy of Education.

The Udall Foundation offers an internship that places students in federal agencies and congressional offices, House and Senate offices to learn firsthand how the U.S. government works with Native American nations.

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management Presidential Management Fellows Program is a leadership development program at the entry level for advanced degree candidates.

The Wenner-Gren Foundation has a variety of grant programs for anthropological research and scholarship that are open to applicants of all nationalities and countries of residence.

The Gaius Charles Bolin Fellowships at Williams College are designed to promote diversity on college faculties by encouraging students from underrepresented groups to complete a terminal graduate degree and to pursue teaching careers in higher education.

The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation assists the development of artists, individuals in business, innovators, scholars and teachers who have shown a propensity for leadership.
