Anthropology PhD, College of Liberal Arts ’24

“Temple has been a space for me to grow, both personally and professionally. From the mentoring of faculty, to research and conference grants, to the diversity within the urban setting of campus, I have gained the tools to project my career after graduation.”

About

Dana Muñiz Pacheco is currently a PhD candidate, studying anthropology in Temple’s College of Liberal Arts. She is also a 2018 Fulbright awardee, studying human rights, education access and citizenship within marginalized and immigrant communities in the Dominican Republic.

She credits her success to her degree program’s advisors and research funding opportunities, such as the First Summers Research Initiative and the Global Studies Grant—both of which helped support her preliminary research in the Dominican Republic, which led to her Fulbright scholarship.

Dana is dedicated to enhancing the experiences and opportunities for minority students in higher education, and plans to pursue a career in academics following the completion of her degree.
