“Dr. Jay Lockenour is one of the only people in the United States that I could work with on my project and research interests. He's offered me a great deal of help and support along the way. In many ways, applying to a PhD program is like applying for an apprenticeship."

About

Eric Perinovic earned his PhD in History in Temple’s College of Liberal Arts. As a 2018 Fulbright U.S. student grantee and Thomas J. Davis Endowed Fellow in Diplomacy and Foreign Relations at Temple’s Center for the Study of Force and Diplomacy, Eric conducted archival research at the Bundesarchiv Militärarchiv in Germany on the enduring political, economic and security legacy of the Lockheed F-104G Starfighter in West German service.

In selecting a PhD program, Eric credited Temple’s research faculty advisors and commitment to interdisciplinarity. He also says that Philadelphia’s proximity to notable research institutions and archives was particularly helpful for budgeting the research trips that supported his studies. After completing his doctoral program at Temple, Eric believed his options were wide open, with possibilities of working at a university, or as a historian for the federal government to help inform policy making.
