Clinical Psychology PhD, CLA '98

“Temple provided me with a great foundation from which I have developed my clinical, research and teaching proficiencies.”

About

Suzie Mindel attended Temple from 1991 to 1998 to pursue her PhD in Clinical Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts.

Working closely with Philip Kendall, distinguished university professor in the College of Liberal Arts, Mindel’s research at Temple was focused on clinical child psychology, with emphasis on the prevention, recognition and treatment of anxiety disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Now a clinical psychologist, Mindel operates a private practice, and serves as the director of research in clinical psychology at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has served as a therapist trainer and supervisor at Temple University’s Child and Adolescent Anxiety Disorders Clinic, and was a member of the treatment development staff at the Center for Psychotherapy Research at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her dedication to the wellness of the Philadelphia community not only inspired her research while at Temple, but her work beyond as well. In addition to her private practice and work for Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Mindel provides pro bono consultation and services to staff and youth at a public charter school in Philadelphia.
