About
William Schwaller is a 2018 Fulbright awardee who pursued his PhD in Art History in Temple’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture, studying transnational systems theories and experimental art in Argentina. When deciding where to attend graduate school, William was attracted to Temple and Philadelphia because of the city’s museums, culture and proximity to New York City and Washington, D.C., all of which aligned with his education and career goals. William described these as the perfect circumstances for an art historian, as they presented opportunities to expand his studies both in Philadelphia and in the greater arts community.
William considered the highlights of his doctoral program at Temple to be his internship at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the friendships he made with fellow students, and opportunities to take courses with and work alongside practicing artists. Following graduation, William has remained committed to education, pursuing careers in both academics and museums.
